Challenge - Removing fibrous material from PVC hose and reclaiming the PVC material.
Solution - Created proprietary fiber separation process that removes fibrous materials from flexible PVC hose. This created a high quality PVC regrind that can be reutilized in the manufacturing of garden hose, allowing the manufacturer to implement a closed loop recycling program. For most the process would stop there, but ISS then used their deep sourcing capabilities to find a second use for the fibrous materials removed from the hose.
Benefit - Landfill avoidance and reduced operating costs by creating a closed loop recycling program.
Challenge - Identifying recycling opportunities and creating customized solutions.
Solution - ISS partners directly with waste haulers to do joint site audits with current customers to identify recycling opportunities. We also offer material identification, sourcing of reclaimed materials and toll processing.
Benefit - Increased landfill diversion of post-industrial plastic materials. Waste Haulers can offer additional recycling services to retain and attract new customers. In many cases, the reclaimed materials may generate additional revenue streams for both the waste hauler and their customer.
